The Muscle Medic

I'm Jess, Registered Nurse of 9+yrs, cosmetic aesthetics practitioner, qualified personal trainer, and ISRM qualified Level 5 soft tissue & remedial massage therapist. I'm a mum to three young children and two large dogs. I have always had an interest in how the body functions. From a singular cell basis to the more complex combination of cells working in synchronicity to perform functions that we don't even need to think about.

 

Having 3 young children has led me to a point in my life where I personally want to remain present in their lives and be involved in bringing them up. I began training in soft tissue therapy during my second maternity leave and as I come to the end of my 3rd and final stint I was in a position to start making this dream my reality. I had planned to return to nursing but made a very last minute decision to grab the bull by it's horns and throw myself into my new business venture.

 

I was drawn to soft tissue and remedial massage because I can still work with people and help them with their health & well being but in a different way to how I would as a nurse. My nursing career has spanned across surgical, community and most recently medical care settings. My most long standing role has been within haematology which I find incredibly interesting and have loved working in.

 

I am also a qualified aesthetics practitioner in dermal fillers, anti wrinkle treatments, mesotherapy, skin boosters, Profhilo, vitamin b12 treatments, dermaplaning and chemical peels. More can be read about these procedures in the aesthetics tab. I have undertaken this role not only to keep my nursing pin active but to help people achieve their aesthetic goals.

I'm excited for this new path in my life and look forward to meeting and working with many of you in the years to come whether in an aesthetic nature or to help ease aches, pains & injuries and keep your body moving.
